I was born the youngest child of entrepreneurs. In fact, I come from a long line of entrepreneurs…it’s in my DNA. At the age of 12, my father hired me to assist his secretary. Fear, or no fear, I felt, not only validated, but the desire to have my own money and to do something and be someone. I remember the first time my secretarial boss, Monica, asked me to answer the phone. Can you imagine a twelve-year-old answering the phone of a large company when you call? These moments I disliked as the nerves set in, but not as much as I disliked the books my father made me read. Yes, at the age of twelve I was expected to read books on business, life, and spirituality. These books tortured my mind, as my mind was too young to comprehend the sophisticated words so neatly placed on the pages.
I am not sure if it was my defiant attitude, or my father’s large heart, but my father began paying me to read these books. However, payday meant I had to show proof of my ever-expanding intellect. My father handed me a pen, a highlighter, and a notebook. The pen was used to take notes on what I was learning in each chapter; while the highlighter was used to highlight key educational points that impacted my young mind.
It wasn’t long (maybe a year or two), that reading such books became my way of life. My father soon found me standing in the doorway of his office asking for another book. Now sitting here at the age of 35 (23 years of reading books), my mind is addicted to wisdom and my soul craves it. People often take one look at me and assume my looks is all I have to offer. Often times I think back to the stale childhood question: “Would you rather be ugly and intelligent or stupid and beautiful?” To answer this question for you, without my intelligence and my passion to fulfill my purpose in life, I would be a breathing dead woman.
My passion is to share my wisdom with all who are dedicated to their passion, and their own personal and business growth. I spent most of my twenties on stages, traveling the nation, speaking to audiences of 100 to 500. Unfortunately, these years were spent speaking on behalf of network marketing companies in order to sell their product and opportunity. By the age of 29 I found myself #1 in the latest network marketing company I had enrolled in. I was flying around the nation, speaking, and being treated as royalty with five star meals and beachfront hotel rooms. I believed I had arrived. However, I knew in my soul something was missing. You see, as a young girl, I fell in love with Joyce Meyer’s books. So much so, I often stated, “I’m going to grow up to be the next Joyce Meyer.”
I will never forget the last meeting I spoke at for this particular network marketing company. The motivational speaker scheduled for the day found himself in the dreaded issues of cancelled flights. The owner of the company, in a half panic, approached me and asked, “Elena, can you help us out? Can you do a motivational speech?”
My heart skipped a beat…you mean unscripted? Without further thought I responded with, “Of course. Give me 15 minutes to jot some notes down.” I spent the next 45 minutes speaking from my heart, and encouraging my audience of about 500, to follow their dreams, believe in themselves, and face their fears. I was on Fire! My passion was alive and well!
I walked off that stage to find a line of people wanting to speak with me. As I spoke to one after the other, I found myself smirking at God for his commitment of promises and sneaky winks at me. You see, many people that day, while speaking with me said, “You remind me of Joyce Meyer.”
For me, that was it. I went home, quit the company, and began my career as a motivational speaker, author, and coach. The more educated I became in this industry, the more successful I became. The more successful I became, the more approaches I received to teach what I know. Over the last four years, I have devoted my time to creating programs and academies in order to teach others how to do what I do.
In life we often find our purpose in areas where we find there to be problems. Becoming an expert in this industry I found many problems, not only worthy of being solved, but that desperately needed to be solved. Each problem I found helped me to create the structure of the company, Transform.
Problem #1: There is a lot to learn, and many different types of experts one must use in order to learn it all.
Solution: Offer everything you need to learn in one location for one price. Stop spending. Stop guessing who you should hire. Start investing wisely in that which you truly need.
Problem #2: One will constantly question if they are doing what they should be doing, buying what they should be buying, and creating what they should be creating.
Solution: Create a team of successful people who will guide each other in exactly what needs to be accomplished in order to reach their dreams.
Problem #3: When following your passion, it can be very lonely, as those without a dream and without passion spew their distaste for your dream and passion.
Solution: Create a team of like-minded people to motivate, elevate, and support each other.
Problem #4: How does one pay for everything they need when they are trying to build their dream on a tight budget.
Solution: Teach them how to accomplish task on their own, instead of hiring everything done for them. For example, it costs approximately $800 to publish a book through a New York publishing company. I teach my Successors how to do it for about $100 and in 20 minutes. (This is true publishing…not self-publishing on the web.)
Problem #5: Weekend Authors. Best-selling authors on Amazon because of tricks and tactics. Thus, making one a common author, instead of a sophisticated New York published author.
Solution: Teach my clients how to be the best!
Problem #6: When your personal life suffers your business life suffers…and vise versa.
Solution: Offer both personal development and business development.
Problem #7: People want quick and easy success.
Solution: Teach them why they don’t want quick and easy. Those who struggle take short cuts. Those who reach success become the student and follow instructions.
Problem #8: You must know the right people to collaborate with to reach success.
Solution: Give people the people they need to collaborate with in order to reach success. (The Successor Team)
Problem #9: There are tons of platforms to choose in order to grow your business.
Solution: Direct links to what the most successful people use, and tutorials on how to use them.
Problem #10: Running ragged all over town in order to network with everyone who doesn’t want to hire you, but instead wants you to hire them.
Solution: Create a video platform for conferencing in order to visually and virtually network with those who truly desire to see your business grow and succeed. A team who is not selling to each other, but instead connecting and collaborating with each other.
Well, that is just 10 problems that our team has set out to conquer with the structure of Transform. Needless to say, there are many more problems that I am sure you are experiencing, and I can almost guarantee that we too have been there and we have your solution.
